Three years ago, our small, local Freemason lodge in Astoria, NYC (Advance Service Mizpah Lodge #586 F&AM) set out to support a special class at P.S. 2Q get the basic school supplies they needed.

A squadron of seven war balloons floated over Queens, New York in April of 1916, as a back drop for the week-long celebration of the LIC Advance Lodge No 635 Freemasons' opening of the Advance Masonic Temple on Grand Avenue and Van Alst Avenue. The balloons were a wondrous sight to behold.

      In April of 1916 Asvance Lodge No 635 of Astoria Queens Advertised in the Lomg Island Sun, The Daily Dispatch, The Brooklyn Eagle and Brooklyn Daiky Times among other local papers a week long celebration for the opening of the new Asvance Masonic Temple on Grand Aveneue and Can Alst Avenue now 2114 30th Ave, Astoria, New Tork 11102.
